YOGA WORKSHOP CONTENT & HIGHLIGHTS

Friday 10:00 - 13:00 | Ascend and Transcend Master Vinyasa Class

A powerful vinyasa flow designed to awaken your consciousness and connect you to your highest self. Move through intelligent sequencing to build foundations of strength, stability, and openness. Ascend towards challenging arm balances and handstands, with options given to modify and play with along the way. This practice is more than just physical; uplift your soul while exploring the balance between challenge for growth and space for depth.
Open to all levels.

Friday 15:00 - 18:30 | Elasticity and Plasticity - Fascial Stretching & Conditioning

Fascia is a broad term for the connective tissue that weaves throughout the entire body to stabilize and bind the muscles, bones, and organs together. When fascia loses its elasticity due to inactivity, lack of mobility, or aging, our bodies lose their youthful bounce, and we are unable to perform optimally.

The first part of this workshop is lecture-based, where we cover the four properties of fascia, the theory of how to train the fascia, the associated myofascial meridians, and their function on the body through movement, support, and flexibility as well as how to optimize healing and recovery.

The second part of this workshop moves through a series of dynamic, rebounding movements and targeted fascial line holistic stretching to condition and reorganize our fascia into supple, reactive bands, dramatically increasing the range of motion, athleticism, and mobility to enhance balance, reflexes, and proprioception.

Saturday 10:00 - 13:00 | Buddha Palms Yoga

This simple yet paradoxically complex practice combines Qigong, the ancient Chinese art of energy cultivation, Tai Chi, a form of Chinese Kung Fu, and vinyasa yoga into a system of fluid movements combined with meditation that is beneficial for boosting health, vitality, physical power, and mental clarity.  The practice emphasizes softness while cultivating internal energy development. The entire method is a moving meditation with full range fluid movements that open the shoulders and create a tremendous amount of mobility through the spine and hips. This workshop will bring you through the foundational Buddha palms movement and qigong meditation to establish a basis that will lead us into the Buddha palms yoga flow. This practice will close in Zazen meditation and a sound bath savasana with live Rav Vast music.

Saturday 15:00 - 18:30 | Jump, Float and Fly

Moving with mindfulness and awareness is the foundations of an asana practice. Floating with grace and control creates cultivation of consciousness that ascends our yoga practice. Every step, jump, and handstand provides us with an opportunity to deepen this connection. This workshop works through the physics of inertia, weight distribution and transfer of energy to create multifunctionally concepts of movement so you can float effortlessly on your mat. Using these theories of action, I will instruct you on jumping in and out of crow from down dog, floating to forward fold and chaturanga, and graceful entries into handstands. We practice these movements everytime we step on the mat, and spend a lifetime of practice to deepen our connection to them and through this connection, ultimately ourselves.

Open to all levels.

DYLAN WERNER

Dylan grew up in the mountains of Southern California, where at an early age he was into fitness, movement, extreme sports, and nature. At 18, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served as an aircraft firefighter, and also wrestled for the All-Marine wrestling team. After one tour of duty in the Iraqi war, Dylan was honorably discharged and returned to California to attend university, where he studied anatomy and emergency medicine. Dylan spent eight years working as a paramedic; four years on an ambulance and another four years as a full-time firefighter/paramedic.

Dylan was first introduced to yoga in 2001 as a part of his martial arts training, but it wasn't until 2009 when he made the yoga practice a part of his daily life and started to understand the true journey of the yogi.

Since 2011, Dylan has been teaching yoga. Though a lover of movement, handstands, arm balances and creative sequencing, his focus is the integration of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence to create a space to deepen the inner connection.

In 2015, Dylan gave up his home in California to travel and teach workshops, teacher trainings, festivals, and retreats. He has taught in over 60 countries and more than 400 workshops or events. He is passionate about spreading his love for yoga and helping others in their journey by sharing his journey.
