Black Lotus Yoga Immersion
Ty Landrum is coming back to Amsterdam! After last year’s success, we are happy to welcome Ty back at Global Flow and to offer you another opportunity to study more in-depth with this profound teacher. The way Ty combines his true dedication to the practice, with his in-depth knowledge of the philosophy and his eloquent teaching style, is truly inspiring. His teachings create a beautiful bridge between intellectual understanding and embodied living of the ancient teachings in modern times.

You might know Ty because of his long dedication to the practice of Ashtanga Yoga and his in-depth knowledge of yoga philosophy. He has been teaching both in his own unique yet humble way for many years internationally. Ty combines his extensive studies and yearlong practice in his own method Black Lotus Yoga, which is a modern practice that honours the tradition of yoga asana and yoga philosophy. This immersion is your opportunity to explore his teachings and the practice of Black Lotus Yoga to inspire, deepen, or maybe even transform your own practice.

Black Lotus Yoga
Black Lotus Yoga is the latest blossom of the modern vinyasa tradition. It arose unexpectedly, on a sudden wave of breath, to encourage bold new explorations of the body and mind. Based on old Hatha principles, the practice gives tradition new life, by encouraging improvisation within an overarching structure. With six balanced and exhilarating sequences, Black Lotus Yoga reaches deep into the body, rousing dormant powers and inviting the creative sap to flow.
In Black Lotus Yoga, the body is not an instrument of the mind. Instead, the body is what the Hatha tradition takes it to be—an organic enfoldment of a sublime creative power that is quietly burning to take expression through us, and guide us into our true life. Our practice is to open to that power, feel it moving under our skin, and surrender to its movement, so it can reshape us from the inside.
The Program
In this workshop, we go beyond formal introductions to explore the philosophy behind the practice, and to learn the subtle techniques that bring that philosophy alive—tracing inner movements of breath, balancing subtle patterns of sensation, and lifting support from earth to sky. These are the foundation of bandha and mudra. Throughout this workshop, we explore yoga it was meant to be—a mode of contemplating the sublime wonder of embodiment.
Who is this workshop for:
This workshop is for anyone who wants to learn Black Lotus Yoga, as well as for people who are already practicing the Black Lotus Yoga system and want a more rounded understanding. Those who come from Ashtanga will find Black Lotus to be an enriching alternative. No previous experience with Black Lotus Yoga is necessary! The entire system is new, and you are invited to share the excitement.

Renowned for his profound explorations of traditional yogic ideas, Ty has a unique talent for bringing the philosophy of yoga alive, not only in words, but on the canvas of the breathing body. His passion as a teacher is to share the brilliance of yoga with anyone who wants to learn.
